The car shown here was inspired by two Exner designs from the 1950s. Exner designed both the Chrysler d'Elegance concept car and the K-310 concept car. By the 1950s, Karmann was ready to name a car. Ghia was approached by Karmann bosses to design a car body with mechanicals that could be taken directly from Volkswagen.
